As a firm, when providing discretionary services, we are required to set out a detailed engagement policy or explain why we have chosen not to do so.
Our firm does not have a formal engagement policy, as we feel that an engagement policy is more appropriate to firms providing discretionary services to large institutional clients such as pension funds or investment funds rather than discretionary services provided to retail clients. Our ability to engage with companies is limited as generally the proportion of shares held in a company is lower than those held by major institutions. Accordingly we do not believe it is appropriate for our firm to have a formal engagement policy.
The value of investments and the income derived from them may go down as well as up and you may not receive back all the money which you invested. Any information relating to past performance of an investment or investment service is not necessarily a guide to future performance.
Fluctuations in the rate of exchange may have an adverse effect on the value, price or income of non-sterling denominated investments.
